Some pictures

The crowd we waited in for 6 hours to board the train. We were supposed to leave Chicago at 10pm on the 21st, but we ended up leaving around 3:30am on the 22nd. It was around -40 in Chicago with windchill, and the plumbing on the train actually froze. We ended up being around 9 hours late to New York City, because the delays were added throughout the trip.

Christmas

Greetings from New York and Merry Christmas!

Zach here. Sorry we haven't written or posted any pictures yet, Matt hasn't been able to get his computer online. Hopefully sometime soon we will be able to get some pictures up. We've got some good ones: cute babies, kids, christmas trees, etc. We also made a little video of our train ride that we'll throw on here before too long.

Hope everyone is having a merry christmas. Ours has been very eventful to say the least. I wasn't sure what it would be like spending Christmas with a bunch of people who we were only strangers to, but everyone (including aunts, uncles, cousins...) has treated us like we were family. I've felt more at home here than I could have imagined. That said, I miss my family and as comfortable and fun as it has been here I still miss Christmas back in Sun Prairie. Afterall, that's where I learned what 'home' was.

In hope, I will start writing on here more often, but it's been hard to find the time. Even my own journal hasn't gotten much use. I guess we'll just have to see what the next days/weeks have in store for us. We're really just riding it out at this point.
